The Road to Serfdom masterfully outlines some of the founding ideas of capitalism, especially regarding why the ideas of ownership & property rights are so critical to capitalism. The quality of life we enjoy today is all thanks to capitalism. Marx supported a “progressive” income tax that would tax the rich more, but this is progressive by name only. Capitalism advocates for a flat tax where everyone pays their fair share.
