Managing border security has always been the proper role of government, though the government has been failing to proceed with this effectively. Regardless of how you believe border security should be managed, it should be agreed that it’s an issue that needs to be addressed promptly. In order to be effectively persuasive on such a divisive issue, Republicans should be thinking about how they can appeal to dissenters by considering the aspects that anyone can acknowledge need to be addressed – ie, human trafficking at the border.
