Public policy analyst and land-use and transportation expert Randall O’Toole joins Kim to discuss the works of James J. Hill. Hill was an early proponent of privatized transportation development and had a distrust for govermnet-sponsored projects, which ultimately end up being boondoggles. This can be seen in Colorado in the present. Colorado is spending more money on expensive transportation that is less efficient than the systems that we currently have.  Hill has taught us that we shouldn’t subsidize transportation. Transportation that deserves to be built will pay itself off. Unnecessarily developing rail transportation is wasteful. Listen to the full interview in the second hour.
