Matt Durkin, JeffCO District Attorney candidate, joins Kim to continue the conversation regarding safe communities.  Unfortunately, there are similarities between Denver and Chicago (which just experienced its worst gun violence since 2015 during the Memorial Day weekend and has a DA sponsored by George Soros).  Crime in the metro area has increased by up to 14% with burglaries up 54%.  A young woman was murdered by a released prisoner due to COVID-19 policies implemented by the prison system.  Visit Matt’s website, durkinforda.com to learn more of his plan to protect the safety of your family.

Penn Pfiffner, Chairman of the TABOR Committee, former legislator and founder of Construction Economics discusses The Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights (TABOR) provisions regarding the idea of imposing emergency taxes because of COVID-19.  TABOR states that every government (state, local, special districts) must maintain a 3% set aside for emergency purposes only; emergency tax revenue is available only after the reserves has been depleted; the definition of an emergency excludes revenue shortfalls and; a bill allowing emergency taxes must pass by a supermajority of two-thirds in both the senate and the house.  Unfortunately, since 2003 the legislators have not kept faith to the Colorado citizens as they have not been putting cash in reserves and are using buildings for reserves.
