Entrepreneur and owner of the Historic 88 Drive-In Theatre Susan Kochevar explains the ramifications of such bad public policy. The Colorado state legislature is in session and the policy attack on small businesses is making it very difficult to start a business, run a business, and hire employees in Colorado. Bad policies are making it increasingly difficult for businesses in Colorado to operate. HB 23-1118 in particular punishes employers. The passage of the Family Leave Act is encouraging more bills to be created that harm businesses and employers. Minimum wage should be abolished for the good of everyone. Bureaucrats are taking away rights and decreasing the quality of life through bills that claim to do the opposite. Young people need to be taught to value work. Listen to the full interview in the second hour.

Brad Beck and his Latest Essay

Co-founder of Liberty Toastmasters Brad Beck discusses his essay Ideas. Beck’s latest essay is rolling out over the weekend, focusing on ideas. In this essay, Beck discusses the formation of and importance of ideas in our society. A society cannot flourish without differences of ideas and opinions. Ideas are a crucial freedom. Political attacks on language are attacks on differences of ideas. The government has no role in promoting, discouraging, censoring, ideas (and so forth). It’s our responsibility to “shoot down” bad ideas at the ballot box and help the good ones flourish. Listen to the full interview in the first hour. Read the essay when it releases on Sunday, February 26th.
