Glenn Rhoades, director of national operations for EMP Task Force, joins Kim for a discussion on the need to fortify the US power grid. The conflict in Ukraine has brought worldwide attention to vulnerabilities in power grids. Fortifying the US electric grid would save large swathes of the population in the event of a nuclear disaster.  Listen to the full interview in the first hour.

Interview with Scott Cleland

Scott Cleland, founder and executive director of the Restore Us Institute, joins Kim to explain the Restore Us Institute’s mission to protect people from danger online. Cleland aims to protect people from danger online by restoring US constitutional accountability to the Internet. The internet is currently in veritable anarchy due to the government’s decreased online presence.

Kim agrees with Cleland’s broader vision, but believes that centralizing the government online would be an attack on free speech. The government prioritizes protecting technology over protecting people. People on the internet are oftentimes viewed more as sources of data than autonomous human beings. Cleland’s biggest concern is users’ lack of rights on the internet. Listen to the full interview in the second hour.
