Michael Mabee with Grid Security Now discusses his complaint to the federal government about the lack of grid security. here were 107 physical attacks against the U.S. electric grid through August 31 of 2022. Mabee specializes in hazards concerning the electric grid. Several attacks on the electric grid have recently been perpetrated by unknown people in North Carolina, targeting transformers. Transformers are crucial to the stability of the electric grid, yet quite vulnerable. There are no legal requirements that they must have any sort of security. he electric utility industry has spent$1.2 billion lobbying against regulation that would protect the electric grid.
