About This Guide

What's inside. The guide has four sections: statewide measures, local measures, races, and judges. Your personal guide includes the measures, races and judges for your address. Races and judges marked "May Be on Your Ballot", and local measures marked "Just in Case", depend on district lines we can't yet match to your address; your county's sample ballot is the final word.

Measures. Each one has the official ballot language, what it would cost, who's paying for each side where a campaign has registered, and Kim's recommendation. On the web, many tax measures include a calculator: enter an amount of your choosing to see the tax applied to it.

Races. Each race page explains what the office does and lists every candidate on the ballot. Each candidate's profile gives their background, their party's platform, and their campaign money.

Judges. Each judge's page gives the court, the year they were appointed, and the official performance commission's finding on whether they meet performance standards.

Where the facts come from. Every fact links to its source, grouped on each page:

Pages with show coverage also have a "From the Show" section with related Kim Monson Show segments. Candidate profiles draw on the Secretary of State's candidate list, official records and the candidates' own websites, and show Colorado Union of Taxpayers ratings where they exist. Judges' pages give the official findings of the state and district judicial performance commissions.

Kim's recommendations weigh each measure for limited government, personal liberty, and the defense of TABOR and Colorado taxpayers. They draw on her work as president of the Colorado Union of Taxpayers and her personal belief in defending and advocating for these principles.
