The ballot question
Shall the following described area become a part of the Chaffee County Fire Protection District upon the following conditions, if any? Description of Area: All real property located in the Town of Buena Vista, Colorado that on November 3, 2026 is not located within the jurisdictional boundaries of the Chaffee County Fire Protection District. Subject to the Following Condition: On or before July 15, 2026, the Buena Vista Board of Trustees has adopted a Resolution committing to reduce the property tax rate the Town assesses each year by the 3.936 mills that Chaffee County Fire Protection District currently assesses.

What a vote does
- A yes vote means
- Town of Buena Vista property not already in the district would join the Chaffee County Fire Protection District, on the printed condition that the town has committed to reduce its own property tax rate by 3.936 mills.
- A no vote means
- That property would stay outside the district.
