The ballot question
SHALL LARKSPUR FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT (LFPD) TAXES BE INCREASED $925,225 ANNUALLY (IN THE FIRST FULL FISCAL YEAR), AND BY SUCH AMOUNT AS ARE RAISED THEREAFTER, BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 2027, BY INCREASING THE DISTRICT'S PROPERTY TAX RATE BY 3.97 MILLS FOR THE PURPOSES OF MAINTAINING AND ENHANCING THE CURRENT OPERATIONS IN FIRE PROTECTION, EMERGENCY MEDICAL RESPONSE, PUBLIC SAFETY, AND RELATED SERVICES FOR THE RESIDENTS, PROPERTY OWNERS, VISITORS, AND BUSINESSES SERVED BY THE DISTRICT, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: INCREASE FIREFIGHTER STAFFING TO DECREASE RESPONSE TIMES, INCREASE COVERAGE; PROVIDE HIGH-QUALITY TRAINING THAT ENSURE OUR FIREFIGHTERS ARE PREPARED FOR ANY FORESEEABLE EMERGENCY; PROVIDE COMPETITIVE WAGES AND BENEFITS COMPARED TO SIMILAR FIRE AGENCIES FOR RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION OF HIGHLY QUALIFIED FIREFIGHTERS AND OTHER PERSONNEL; PARTICIPATE IN AN ACCREDITATION PROCESS TO HELP WITH STABILIZING THE INSURANCE OF PROPERTIES IN THE DISTRICT AND VALIDATING THE SERVICES PROVIDED TO THE COMMUNITY; SUSTAIN FUNDING TO MAINTAIN OUR FLEET OF EMERGENCY VEHICLES, FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT SO THEY ARE OPTIMIZED TO BE INLINE WITH THE STRATEGIC PLANS AND OPERATIONAL NEEDS; AND IN ORDER TO FACILITATE CONTINUED FINANCIAL STABILITY, SHALL THE DISTRICT BE AUTHORIZED TO OFFSET THE POSSIBILITIES OF REVENUE LOSS DUE TO LEGISLATIVE CHANGES, REDUCED REVENUE DUE TO DECREASED PROPERTY VALUATION, OR OTHER MATTERS THAT WOULD REDUCE THE DISTRICT'S TOTAL REVENUE FROM CURRENT LEVELS AND ACCOUNTING FOR GROWTH WITHIN THE DISTRICT, BY PERIODICALLY ADJUSTING THE MILL LEVY RATE, AS NEEDED TO REMAIN REVENUE NEUTRAL, STARTING TAX COLLECTION YEAR 2028 AND REVIEWED ANNUALLY THEREAFTER AND SHALL ALL DISTRICT REVENUES BE COLLECTED, RETAINED, AND SPENT NOTWITHSTANDING ANY REVENUE LIMITS PROVIDED BY LAW?

- A yes vote means
- Approves the 3.97-mill increase, later rate adjustments to offset revenue losses and authority to collect, retain and spend all district revenue outside legal revenue limits.
- A no vote means
- Rejects this tax increase, adjustment authority and revenue-limit exemption. It does not repeal existing taxes or decide the separate borrowing proposal in 6B.
