What the office does
The Regional Transportation District board sets the budget, fares and service for bus and rail transit in the Denver metro area. Its 15 directors are each elected from a district. Under a 2026 law (SB26-150), the elected board ends on January 1, 2029, and a nine-member board of five elected and four appointed members takes over.
