The ballot question
SHALL SNOWMASS-WILDCAT FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT TAXES BE INCREASED $2,300,000 MILLION IN THE FIRST FULL FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 2027 AND BY SUCH AMOUNT AS ARE RAISED ANNUALLY THEREAFTER BY A SALES TAX OF 0.55% (55 CENTS ON EACH $100) UPON EVERY TRANSACTION IN THE DISTRICT IN WHICH THE STATE IMPOSES A SALES TAX (EXCLUDING GROCERIES AND OTHER EXEMPT ITEMS) FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FIRE PROTECTION AND EMERGENCY SERVICES AS SERVICE DEMANDS INCREASE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: • ESTABLISHMENT, OPERATION, AND MAINTENANCE OF A YEAR-ROUND WILDLAND FIRE DIVISION • IMPLEMENTATION OF HAZARDOUS FUELS REDUCTION AND WILDFIRE MITIGATION PROJECTS • MAINTENANCE AND ENHANCEMENT OF FIRE SUPPRESSION, EMERGENCY MEDICAL, RESCUE, AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE CAPABILITIES • ACQUISITION OF RELATED EQUIPMENT, APPARATUS, AND FACILITIES, AND • PAYMENT OF ASSOCIATED OPERATIONAL, MAINTENANCE, PERSONNEL, AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT COSTS; AND SHALL ALL DISTRICT REVENUES BE COLLECTED, RETAINED, AND SPENT NOTWITHSTANDING ANY REVENUE LIMITS PROVIDED BY LAW?
