Courage
The state or quality of mind or spirit that enables one to face danger, fear, or vicissitudes with self-possession, confidence, and resolution; bravery.
From Old French 'corage' (modern French 'courage'), from Vulgar Latin 'coraticum', derived from Latin 'cor' meaning 'heart'. The heart was considered the seat of emotions and moral strength.
