Holistic

Characterized by the treatment of the whole person, taking into account mental and social factors, rather than just physical symptoms; relating to or concerned with complete systems rather than individual parts.

From Greek 'holos' meaning 'whole.' First used in English in the 1920s by Jan Smuts in his philosophy of holism, which emphasizes that systems should be viewed as wholes rather than collections of parts.
