Indelible
Impossible to remove, erase, or wash away; permanent. Making a mark not easily erased or washed away. Unable to be forgotten; memorable.
From Latin 'indelebilis', meaning 'unable to be destroyed', from 'in-' (not) + 'delebilis' (able to be destroyed), from 'delere' (to destroy).
Usage Examples
- The indelible images of Uyghur children forced into labor camps cannot be unseen once witnessed.
