Defeatism
The acceptance of defeat without struggle; an attitude of expecting or accepting failure, especially as a policy or disposition.
From 'defeat' plus '-ism', first used in the early 20th century, particularly during World War I to describe those who advocated accepting defeat rather than continuing to fight.
