About This Book
Irresistible Revolution: Marxism’s Goal of Conquest & the Unmaking of the American Military is a timely and bold contribution from Matthew Lohmeier, an active-duty Space Force lieutenant colonel who witnessed firsthand what he characterizes as the impact of a neo-Marxist agenda within the armed forces. The book’s three-part framework begins with a discussion of the greatness of the American ideal, including the importance of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the notions of individual and civil liberties.
The second section transitions to an examination of the history and overarching narrative of Marxist ideology, tracing its development from Karl Marx through the Frankfurt School to contemporary critical theory. Lohmeier argues that diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the Department of Defense are rooted in neo-Marxist thought rather than genuine efforts to address real issues.
The final section looks into the ongoing transformation of America’s military culture and military policy. Lohmeier, a 2006 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy with two master’s degrees, brings credibility from his career as a fighter pilot, space operations officer, and commander of a space-based missile warning squadron in Colorado. The book generated national attention when Lohmeier was relieved of his command after its publication.
