Jody Lander is a World War II veteran who served as a paratrooper with the legendary 82nd Airborne Division. His combat service included some of the most significant operations of the European theater.
Lander was among the paratroopers who jumped into Normandy on D-Day, June 6, 1944, participating in one of the largest airborne operations in military history. He later participated in Operation Market Garden, the ambitious airborne assault into the Netherlands, and fought in the Battle of the Bulge during the harsh winter of 1944-1945.
On Memorial Day 2020, Lander appeared on the Kim Monson Show to share his firsthand accounts of D-Day, Operation Market Garden, and the Battle of the Bulge. He recounted stories of his fellow soldiers and the extreme conditions they endured, providing listeners with a living connection to the Greatest Generation's sacrifice and service.
