Kim Monson is the host of The Kim Monson Show, a daily radio program broadcast on KLZ 560 AM in Denver. The show airs live Monday through Friday from 6-8 a.m. MST, with reruns at 10-11 p.m. Her program examines political issues through the framework of "Freedom vs. Force," reflecting her conservative-libertarian principles.
Monson grew up in western Kansas with a deep appreciation for rural America. She attended the University of Kansas briefly before moving to Colorado. She began her career as a bank teller in Longmont, then worked with a small stock brokerage firm as a trading assistant. After passing her Series 7 exam while studying nights and weekends, she became an investment broker at Boettcher and Company, eventually becoming one of the youngest vice-presidents at the firm. She retired from the investment business when her second child was born and later worked in the women's apparel business.
In 2013, Monson began her broadcasting career as one of three hosts of "Americhicks" on KLZ 560 AM. In 2018, she launched The Kim Monson Show as a solo program. She has become widely recognized as a grassroots leader in Colorado, involved in various community and political initiatives.
Monson is deeply committed to veteran advocacy, particularly through her WWII Project, which began after she traveled with D-Day veterans to Normandy in 2016 for the 72nd anniversary commemoration. She has interviewed over 120 World War II veterans and hosts "America's Veteran's Stories with Kim Monson," preserving the stories of those who served.
