Ronald Stein is a Professional Engineer (P.E.) and energy consultant with over 60 years of combined experience in the energy industry. Based in Irvine, California, he founded PTS Advance in 1995 with his wife June, establishing it as a staffing company serving the oil, gas, power, construction, and manufacturing sectors.

Stein has become an internationally recognized voice on energy policy and energy literacy. He has written over 250 op-ed articles and co-authored three books: "Energy Made Easy" (2019), "Just GREEN Electricity" (2020), and "Clean Energy Exploitations" (2021), the latter of which was nominated for the 2022 Pulitzer Prize in General Nonfiction.

His work focuses on energy literacy and the ethical implications of green energy supply chains. He has exposed how mining for electric vehicle batteries in developing countries involves minimal environmental and labor protections, characterizing the materials as "blood minerals." He argues that wind and solar cannot replace crude oil's versatility in manufacturing the 6,000+ products derived from petroleum.

Stein serves as a policy advisor for the Heartland Institute and appears as a National TV Commentator on Energy and Infrastructure with Rick Amato at Your America TV. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Northridge, and previously worked in project management with Fluor, including managing the "Jaws" attraction project at Universal Studios.
