Daniel Finlinson is a survivor of the 2014 Seattle Pacific University shooting who has channeled his experience into advocacy for Second Amendment rights. His firsthand encounter with tragedy gives him a unique perspective on the intersection of community response, personal safety, and constitutional liberties.
Finlinson serves on the board of directors for the Colorado State Shooting Association (CSSA), where he plays an active role in leading legal challenges against legislation he views as infringing on gun rights. Under his involvement, the CSSA has filed lawsuits against measures including an excise tax on firearms and SB3, partnering with national gun rights organizations to mount coordinated legal efforts.
He has appeared on the Kim Monson Show to share both his personal story as a shooting survivor and his advocacy work. His appearances have covered topics ranging from what communities truly need in the aftermath of tragedy to the importance of depoliticizing immediate crisis response, as well as detailed discussions of ongoing legal battles for firearms rights in Colorado.
