Patty McKernan is the GOP Chair of Congressional District 6, covering primarily Arapahoe County, where she works on election integrity and grassroots Republican organizing. In 2025, she ran as a candidate for Centennial City Council District 3, receiving endorsement from Defend Centennial, a local political action group committed to protecting Centennial's quality of life.

McKernan brings extensive professional experience from the financial services industry, having served as Chief Product Officer at Reserve Trust with over 25 years in financial services. She is also affiliated with Saint John Institute and PMM Innovation Consulting.

As a community leader, McKernan has been involved with Protect Kids Colorado, a grassroots advocacy organization focused on child protection and parental rights. Her civic engagement spans multiple areas including election integrity advocacy, Republican Party reform, and local government accountability.

McKernan has been particularly vocal about election integrity issues in Arapahoe County. She exposed concerns about altered cast vote records from the 2020 election and organized the Colorado Election Integrity Summit featuring Dr. Douglas Frank. Her work on Republican primary procedures included advocating for the September 2023 vote to opt out of open primaries, arguing that unaffiliated voter participation had weakened Republican candidates.

In her Centennial City Council campaign, McKernan focused on limited government principles, opposing proposals like single trash haulers that she characterized as government overreach, and advocating for citizen choice in local governance.
