Peter Yu is a first-generation American and finance professional based in Loveland, Colorado. His family immigrated from Hong Kong in 1969, and his personal experience of the American Dream informs his perspective on immigration, opportunity, and economic policy.
Yu has built a career in finance and mortgage services, previously holding executive positions at major corporations including Wyndham Worldwide and HSBC Bank, where he handled large projects, budgets, operations, and team management. He currently works with Edge Home Finance Corporation.
In 2022, Yu ran for the U.S. Senate from Colorado as a Republican, bringing his business background to the campaign. His platform focused on immigration reform, economic growth, housing affordability, and energy policy. He proposed a four-point plan to combat inflation through spending cuts, tax reform, deregulation, and ending Federal Reserve money printing.
Based on his nearly 50 years of experience in America as an immigrant, Yu has argued against the narrative of systemic racism and opposed Critical Race Theory being taught in schools. His perspective combines his immigrant experience with conservative economic principles.
His appearances on the Kim Monson Show discussed CRT, immigration policy, the American Dream, and his economic proposals for addressing inflation.
