Disruption
A disturbance or problem that interrupts an event, activity, or process; a radical change to an existing industry or market caused by innovation or external forces.
From Latin 'disruptio' meaning 'a breaking apart,' from 'disrumpere' meaning 'to break apart, burst.' First used in English in the 1640s to describe forcible separation or division.
