Ben Aste is a conservationist and business owner who founded Uncle Benny's Building Supplies in Loveland, Colorado in 1995. The company has diverted over 4 million tons of usable building materials from landfills by specializing in new, used, and salvaged materials.

Aste is an Eagle Scout and the son of first-generation Swiss immigrants who instilled strong work ethic and entrepreneurial values in him. He worked the night shift at Kodak while attending Colorado State University and has developed four successful businesses in Larimer County over his career.

Beyond his business ventures, Aste is deeply involved in community service, having participated with numerous organizations including Scouts, 4H, FFA, the Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, the Fort Collins Rescue Mission, and the Larimer County Fair & Rodeo. He has served on water and sanitation district boards and has been actively involved with county planning and development projects.

Aste ran unsuccessfully for Larimer County Commissioner District 3 in 2020, narrowly losing to the incumbent, and ran again in 2024 on a platform of reasonable, affordable, and sustainable governance, but did not win that race either.
