Pat Miller is a candidate for Colorado Senate District 17, a Boulder County seat that includes Lafayette, Longmont, and Erie. She grew up in Illinois in a family active in public life: her mother led the PTA, her father served on the school board, and her grandfather was a county commissioner. She and her husband moved to Colorado in 1971.
Miller says she is stepping forward because the legislature has grown increasingly intrusive into family life. She frames her candidacy around defending families and restoring what she sees as Colorado’s older, more independent character. On election integrity she calls for voter identification, a single election day with same-day counting, and an end to most mail ballots, pointing to canvassing after the 2020 election that turned up seven voters registered at an empty lot.
The seat is a special election; Miller acknowledges the district leans Democratic while she runs as a Republican, and says she intends to compete for every legal vote. Her campaign website is patforyou.com.
