Pasio HR CEO Roger Hays joins Kim to discuss the expansion of Colorado’s paid sick leave law in August. Hays believes this expansion will ultimately stifle job creation in Colorado. Hayes and Kim also discuss the current legislative challenges in Colorado for business owners. Listen to the full interview in the first hour.

Interview with Susan Kochevar

Entrepreneur and owner of 88 Drive-In Theatre Susan Kochevar discusses Rhode Island’s new law that adds costly registration fees and privacy concerns for independent contractors and freelancers. The ongoing writers’ strike, if not resolved in the next few weeks, is poised to deal a crippling blow to the theater industry as nearly all productions have come to a halt due to the strike’s impact. Kochevar, sharing her perspective, attributes the strike largely to a moral panic, expressing skepticism about the extent to which AI could potentially aid in screenplays and disrupt job opportunities. On a different note, it is worth noting that political or religious movies, exemplified by the success of films like “Sound of Freedom,” have been performing notably well in recent times.
