Former State Senator Kevin Lundberg Joins Kim to discus the problem with Colorado’s open primaries. “Colorado’s Open Primary makes just about as much sense as allowing fans for the Yankees to choose the batting line-up for the Rockies,” notes Lundberg in his Lundberg Report. Congresswoman Lauren Boebert’s primary challenger is quoted in The Aspen Times that the path for him is through the unaffiliated voters. In late September, the Republican Central Committee is scheduled to conduct a crucial vote regarding the possibility of opting out of the primaries. Currently, a substantial sum of nearly $50,000 has been successfully raised to support a lawsuit aimed at closing the open primaries. This legal effort, led by the Center for Constitutional Jurisprudence, is anticipated to require a total funding of around $50,000. The core argument behind this initiative is the belief that open primaries should be abolished due to their perceived structural unfairness. Listen to the full interview in the first hour.

Interview with Producer Joe

Producer Joe and Kim discuss Jimmy Buffet’s wealth as of his passing. Earlier this year, Jimmy Buffett attained billionaire status through his lifetime involvement in diverse business ventures. However, there are differing opinions on accumulating such vast wealth. Some argue that extreme wealth ownership is inherently unethical, reflecting a somewhat socialist perspective. Additionally, there have been suggestions that individuals with billionaire-level wealth should be subject to progressive taxation as a means to address wealth inequality, which also aligns with socialist principles. Nevertheless, critics of progressive taxation contend that it establishes a worrisome precedent, advocating for a proportional taxation system based on individual wealth.
