Skydiving to Salute – Iwo Jima Marines

skydiving to salue
Celebrate with the USMC Memorial Foundation on March 16, 2024, honoring a 75th birthday & a retirement with a skydive tribute for Iwo Jima Marines.

Join the USMC Memorial Foundation in a dual celebration on March 16th, 2024, as we honor the Foundation’s President’s 75th birthday and the recent retirement of Denver PD Officer and Honorary Board Member, Henry Jones. In a thrilling tribute, Paula Sarlls, unable to parachute during her time in the Marine Corps, will skydive in homage to her Iwo Jima Marine comrades turning 100 this year.

Jim Blane, a revered figure for his heroic actions in Iwo Jima, Tinian, Saipan, and Roi Namur, marks his centennial this year. The upcoming Memorial events are dedicated to him and his fellow Iwo Jima veterans approaching their 99th birthdays.

Paula’s s enlisted the support of Matt Hays, USMC, a fellow skydiver and USMC Memorial Foundation Board Member, to join her in this daring salute. She aims to make multiple jumps, encouraging donations for each descent. Join us in supporting this unique tribute.
