It is in the interest of tyrants to reduce the people to ignorance and vice. For they cannot live in any country where virtue and knowledge prevail.

Samuel Adams

Samuel Adams (1722-1803) was a pivotal figure in American history, celebrated for his role in advancing the American Revolution and helping to shape the foundations of the United States. Adams served in the Continental Congress, where he was a strong advocate for independence. Later, as a Massachusetts state politician, he contributed to the drafting of the Commonwealth’s constitution.
