Guest host Allen Thomas and Nephi Cole, with the National Shooting Sports Foundation, ask why legislators would focus on infringing taking away the rights of Coloradoans instead of stopping bad guys from coming across the border. Cole recently testified against HB 24-1270, a bill mandating liability insurance for firearms, a testimony that did not yield the desired outcome, though details were not provided. Additionally, he highlighted HB 24-1349, proposing a 9-11% excise tax on firearms and ammunition. He argued that neither of these bills would effectively reduce gun crimes; instead, they would unfairly penalize lawful gun owners, imposing financial burdens without addressing the root causes of gun violence. Interview with Katie Gorka

Katie Gorka discusses the book she co-authored Next Gen Marxism: What It Is and How To Combat It. Next Gen Marxism offers an in-depth exploration of Marxism and the ultimate objectives of its founders, positioning modern Marxism as the third generation of this ideology. It critically views Marxism as a corrupt and violent ideology, arguing against its foundational belief that individuals are incapable of collaboratively addressing common issues. Listen to the full interview in the second hour.

Kim Monson's Quote of the Day:
April 5, 2024

I wear this Medal for all those with whom I served who gave their lives or were never recognized for their courage.

David Bleak

David Bruce Bleak, born in Idaho in 1932, was an American soldier who distinguished himself during the Korean War and was awarded the Medal of Honor, the United States military’s highest decoration. Serving as a medic with the rank of Private First Class in the U.S. Army, Bleak displayed extraordinary bravery during a combat mission on June 14, 1952. Despite intense enemy fire, he fearlessly rescued wounded comrades and provided critical medical aid. His most notable acts of valor included killing enemy soldiers in close combat and, in one remarkable instance, using his bare hands to break the neck of an opponent to protect a fellow soldier. For his exceptional courage and selflessness on the battlefield, Bleak’s heroism was recognized with the Medal of Honor. After the war, he returned home and lived a life marked by the humility and strength that defined his service, passing away in 2006. Bleak’s legacy is a testament to the profound impact of bravery and compassion under fire.
