Hans von Spakovsky, a member of the Heritage Foundation, offers a detailed critique of ranked choice voting, explaining why he believes it to be a flawed system. In ranked choice voting, voters are required to rank multiple candidates based on their preference, a process Spakovsky argues leads to ballot exhaustion. He attributes this exhaustion to the confusion and effort the system demands from voters. Furthermore, Spakovsky’s analysis of this voting method comes at a crucial time, as ranked choice voting is expected to be a significant issue on the November ballot, inviting voters to decide its implementation in future elections.

Interview with Kevin Lundberg

Former State Senator Kevin Lundberg discusses the latest issues highlighted in The Lundberg Report.

Harriet Beecher Stowe, born on June 14, 1811, in Litchfield, Connecticut, was an American abolitionist and author, best known for her novel “Uncle Tom’s Cabin.” This influential book, published in 1852, powerfully depicted the harsh realities of slavery and galvanized anti-slavery sentiments in the North, significantly impacting public opinion and adding fervor to the abolitionist movement. Stowe was born into a prominent religious family and was the sister of renowned preacher Henry Ward Beecher. Her upbringing instilled in her a strong sense of social justice and moral responsibility. Throughout her life, Stowe wrote over 30 books, but “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” remains her most famous work, translated into multiple languages and selling millions of copies worldwide. Her writing not only made a profound impact on the anti-slavery movement but also contributed to the outbreak of the American Civil War, underlining the power of literature in shaping public opinion and policy.
