Interview with Trent Loos
Sixth generation farmer and rancher Trent Loos discusses the “takings” of farmland and pastureland in the midwest by PBIs (Politicians, Bureaucrats, and Interested Parties). Rural communities are increasingly voicing their concerns about energy companies using eminent domain to acquire land for energy projects. An example of this is Stand 4 Land Kansas, which highlights the growing trend of land seizure across the country, particularly for green energy initiatives like CO2 pipelines. In a related discussion, the issue of illegal immigration is brought up. Loos, in this context, draws attention to a less commonly discussed aspect of illegal immigration: its impact on dog shelters. He points out that illegal immigrants often contribute to overcrowding in these shelters, both by not neutering their dogs and by bringing dogs across the border, some of which are used as drug mules.
