The sanctity of the individual and right to own property are foundational to the American Idea. Founder and CEO of First American State Bank Jay Davidson explains we are engaged in the ancient and eternal battle of independence versus control. The Founding Fathers, having personally witnessed the oppressive consequences of excessive regulation, chose to establish a system of governance based on laws rather than regulations. This decision was made to safeguard against the tyranny they had experienced. However, the lack of a comprehensive understanding of capitalism has allowed for its demonization. In essence, capitalism simply upholds the principle that individuals who own property have the freedom to exercise control over their rightfully owned assets. Unfortunately, the misconceptions surrounding capitalism have led to its vilification. Meanwhile, the political left aims to strip away the inherent rights that were fundamental to the nation’s founding, undermining the very essence of what the country was built upon. It is important to recognize that government, with its tendency to curtail freedom, stands as the antithesis to both freedom and capitalism.

Interview with Dr. Douglas Groothuis

Dr. Douglas Groothuis discusses his book about wokism, Fire in the Streets: How You Can Confidently Respond to Incendiary Topics. The unequal outcomes we observe in society can be attributed to the differing decisions individuals make in their lives, as each person is granted the same 24 hours in a day. Critical race theory, on the other hand, rejects the concept of personal agency and fosters a mindset of victimhood. By advocating for the redistribution of wealth from the wealthy to the lower classes, we inadvertently nurture a culture of dependency among those receiving the redistributed resources. It is crucial to address the leftists’ misconception regarding the history of slavery, such as the purpose of the 3/5ths compromise, which aimed to determine representation rather than questioning the full humanity of slaves. In order to combat the proliferation of Marxist ideologies, it is imperative for America to establish a robust system of private schools. Finally, cancel culture, by dictating which ideas should be silenced and barred from debate, undermines the essential principles of free expression and open dialogue.
