Founder of Task Force Freedom Cain shares updates regarding parents waking up to what is happening in schools regarding CRT-Critical Race Theory, SEL-Social Emotional Learning, and DEI-Diversity Equity and Inclusion. Task Force Freedom has just unveiled its new website, accessible at https://www.taskforcefreedomnoco.com/. Notably, the founder, Cain, is advocating for parents to consider withdrawing their children from public schools with the aim of safeguarding their safety and preserving their innocence. There is criticism directed towards the allocation of half a million dollars to Aurora public schools, despite the troubling state of reading and arithmetic proficiency across the state, which has reached an all-time low. The sentiment expressed is that public schools may have shifted their priorities and are no longer viewed as the protective institutions they once were for children. Interview with Mary Janssen

Lakewood City Councilwoman Mary Janssen discusses how and why she is proposing that Lakewood lower its property tax mill levy. Janssen, who has a background in photography, also holds the role of a city councilwoman in Lakewood. Her perspective centers around Lakewood’s financial dynamics, where she asserts that the city’s primary issue is not a lack of revenue but rather a problem with spending. Janssen advocates for a shift away from what she considers unwise expenditure practices. She highlights that Lakewood is currently generating revenue through a mill levy on property taxes, which she believes is financially burdensome for citizens. As a solution, Janssen is proposing a reduction in the mill levy, emphasizing that if no action is taken to address this, property taxes could escalate by approximately 35%. Her goal is to diminish the mill levy by 20% to alleviate this financial strain on Lakewood residents. Listen to the full interview in the second hour.
