Dr. James Lyons-Weiler discusses Fauci’s hubris. Dr. Lyons-Weiler wrote at Popular Rationalism on Substack that outgoing NIAID Director Anthony Fauci recently double-downed on his promotion of the COVID-19 vaccination and lockdowns long, long after they have been shown to be worse than failure. After testifying to a judge, Fauci has essentially conceded that he lacks the knowledge to comment on the effectiveness of Covid lockdowns. Fauci’s ideas on Covid mitigation are plainly inconsistent. Herd immunity is achieved at ~94% vaccination of the population. Some vaccines have proved effective at ~60%. Fauci’s insistence to reach ~99% vaccination is essentially an admission that it’s ineffective.

Strategies for People Who Want to Force Their Views on Others

Dr. Rachel Corbett of Roots Medical jons Kim to share strategies for dealing with people who insist on forcing their views on others. Remaining calm, having a good sense of humor, and being open to the other side’s views will ease the tension of the conversation. Asking the other party specific questions based on what they’ve told you, forcing them to elaborate on themselves in detail, will expose the flaws in their argument. Kim asks Corbett how she would engage with someone who is aggressively pro-vaccine. Corbett says that she’d ask questions such as why the other party believes that (covid) vaccines are so beneficial, and that she’d cite statistics from sources such as the CDC against certain arguments.
