Former State Senator Kevin Lundberg discusses SB 24-159, SB 24-165, and SB-166, the Supreme Court’s ruling on Trump’s Colorado ballot eligibility, and the Colorado Open Primary Constitutional Challenge Litigation Fund. SB 24-159 is set to significantly hinder energy and carbon management processes, marking a notable shift in regulatory approaches. Meanwhile, SB 24-165 and SB 24-166 are poised to impose restrictions on oil and gas operations, citing air quality concerns as the primary motivator for these legislative changes.

In a separate but related development, the Supreme Court has unanimously ruled that former President Trump cannot be removed from the Colorado ballot, a decision that underscores the complexities of electoral politics. Additionally, the Claremont Institute has taken an active role in these political dynamics by establishing a donation portal for the Colorado Open Primary Constitutional Challenge Litigation Fund, indicating a growing legal challenge to the state’s primary election system. These developments collectively signal significant shifts in environmental policy, electoral politics, and legal battles over primary elections within Colorado. Interview with Bill Rutledge

Col. Bill Rutledge (Ret. USAF) discusses part two of our COVID conversation regarding access to alternative treatments and the passing of his wife. Rutledge shared his personal ordeal and that of his late wife’s battle with COVID, highlighting the challenges they faced due to what he perceives as government overreach. He pointed out that the excessive quarantining procedures in the hospital, coupled with restrictions on the use of hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin, added unnecessary stress during his hospital stay. Rutledge is of the opinion that the availability of these treatments could have potentially saved his wife’s life. Furthermore, he expressed skepticism about the efficacy of masks and COVID vaccines, suggesting that, scientifically, they are known to be ineffective. This narrative underscores the complexities and controversies surrounding the management and treatment options during the COVID pandemic. Listen to the full interview in the second hour.

Kim Monson's Quote of the Day:
March 5, 2024

Too often, I think, children are required to write before they have anything to say. Teach them to think and read and talk without self-repression, and they will write because they cannot help it.

Anne Sullivan Macy

Anne Sullivan Macy (1866-1936) was an American teacher best known for her pivotal role as the instructor and lifelong companion of Helen Keller. Born in Feeding Hills, Massachusetts, Sullivan faced immense challenges from a young age, including the loss of her mother, abandonment by her father, and a series of personal health issues that left her partially blind. Despite these hardships, she attended the Perkins School for the Blind, where she honed the skills that would later define her career. In 1887, Sullivan began working with Helen Keller, a young girl who was deaf and blind. Through innovative teaching methods, including manual sign language and tactile learning, Sullivan unlocked the world for Keller, helping her to communicate and eventually become a renowned author and activist. Sullivan’s dedication to Keller’s education exemplifies her belief in the potential of every individual, regardless of their physical limitations, making her a pioneering figure in the field of special education.
