Author of Smoking Them Out: The Theft of the Environment and How to Take It Back Greg Walcher discusses Wyoming wind projects killing Golden Eagles and water in the West. California is receiving large quantities of rain, though they are draining their dams and letting the rainwater drain into the ocean while continuing to dip into the Colorado River. The construction of new reservoirs & water storage areas would be massively helpful, though environmentalists oppose this. The federal permitting process for water storage makes it extremely challenging to create new water storage areas/facilities. The government wants to push for more control over the nation’s water via policies such as the Clean Water Act. Colorado is at high risk of access to water becoming limited through these policies. The Biden administration will continue these pursuits. Citizens must oppose their goals. Environmentalists don’t truly care about nature, considering their advocacy for wind farms & turbines, which are harmful to numerous kinds of wildlife. Listen to the full interview in the

Liberty Toastmasters Day: The Natural Rights of the Individual vs. Collective Entitlements

Fellow Liberty Toastmasters weigh in on the natural rights of the individual vs collective entitlements.

  • Bill Federer: There exists no right to violate rights – it’s inherently contradictory.
  • Rick Rome: The Patriot Act is a standout example of a right to violate rights. Although it was created with the goal of preventing harm, it has created numerous new issues that didn’t exist prior to its inception. Likewise, any right to violate rights is certain to result in more problems, regardless of its intentions.
  • Greg Morrissey: Humans have an innate sense for rights, so much that even children have a basic grasp on them.
  • Terri Goon: Rights exist to prevent moral boundaries from being violated. Rights are a moral concept.
  • Marshall Dawson: Policies only succeed if they’re successful in appealing to people’s senses of rights. Bad policies succeed if they have effective marketing and vice versa. Beware of fallacies in bad policies.
  • Christie Whaley: Politicians who do not consider rights are ineffective and should be thrown out.
  • Dave Walden: There are two types of rights: negative rights, which seek to restrict, and positive rights, which enable. Vote accordingly and be conscious of what is being enabled or restricted.
